Duplicate alerts
Before you add a contact, easySales checks whether the person may already be there and shows a Duplicate Alert if so. Use it to avoid entering the same person twice.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need Contact Add.
- Start a New contact.
- Type at least two characters in Name, Email or Phone.
- Read each Duplicate Alert: it names the existing record and, where known, its owner and team.
- If it is the same person, cancel and ask the owner, or open the existing contact if you can see it.
- If it is a different person, complete the form and select Create contact.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”The alert does not stop you saving. It shows only a name, an owner and a team — never a link, an address or other details of a record you may not be allowed to see.
Rules to know
Section titled “Rules to know”- The phone you type is compared with both the Phone and the Mobile of existing contacts.
- Names are compared ignoring punctuation and spacing, emails ignoring capital letters, and phone numbers ignoring spaces and dashes.
- Two different people can share a name or a phone number, so the alert is a warning only.
