Line items
The lines of a quotation say exactly what you are offering. A line starts from a product and then carries its own quantity, price and description for this quotation.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need Quote View and Edit, and the quotation must be Open. Product List decides which products you can pick; Product Add lets you create one from a line.
- Open the quotation and select Edit quotation.
- Select Add line for each product or service.
- Choose the product in Item, then set Qty, Unit, Unit price, Unit cost and the Description.
- Tick Per-line tax rates and set a line’s own rate when it is taxed differently.
- Drag a line by its handle, or use the up and down arrow keys, to change the order it prints in; remove a line you no longer need.
- Check Subtotal, Tax, Total and Cost.
- Select Save changes.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”The quotation keeps its number, and its totals are worked out again from the saved lines.
Rules to know
Section titled “Rules to know”- A line’s amount is its Qty times its Unit price.
- A line’s own tax rate replaces the quotation’s rate for that line; other lines use the quotation’s rate.
- Subtotal is the lines before tax, Tax is worked out line by line, and Total is the two added together. Cost is for your own margin and is not part of the total.
- To stop using per-line rates, clear the rate on each line first.
- easySales has no quotation discount field. Show a discount as a lower Unit price or as a line of its own.
