Glossary

The words easySales uses, in alphabetical order. Each links to the page that explains it.

Term Meaning
Account A customer — a company (Business) or a person (Personal). See Accounts.
Account Owner The colleague responsible for an account. See Change the owner.
Balance due What a customer still owes on an invoice. See Outstanding balance.
Contact A person at an account. See Contacts.
Credit note A numbered document that reduces one issued invoice. See Credit notes.
Customer code The number easySales gives each customer, starting C-.
Draft An invoice or credit note not yet issued. See Issuing and numbering.
Invoice A request for payment for a confirmed sale. See Invoices.
Issue Give a draft its number and lock its details. See Issue an invoice.
Lead A possible customer you have not yet qualified. See Leads.
Licence Your company’s easySales subscription: its workspace, plan and users. See Licence.
Opportunity A deal you are working on, which can hold several quotations. See Opportunities.
Outstanding The part of an invoice not yet paid or credited.
Proforma number The PF- number a draft invoice carries before it is issued.
Quotation An offer to a customer before anything is owed. See Quotations.
Receipt A record of money received, which can pay several invoices. See Payments.
Refund Money paid back to a customer from unapplied money or remaining credit.
Role The set of permissions a user has. See Permissions.
Sharing rule A rule that shares one group’s records with another. See Sharing and teams.
Team A group of users who share records. See Sharing and teams.
Unapplied Money on a receipt not yet applied to any invoice.
Void Cancel an issued invoice; a full credit note is raised for it. See Void an invoice.
